Puppy Prep
For Puppies 7-12 Weeks of Age
Raising a puppy can be quite a chore and often more work than expected. Let Carolyn show you how to teach your puppy to eliminate outside, walk nicely on a leash, introduce the concept of sitting, laying down and coming when called using age appropriate techniques. You'll learn to teach your puppy his name and how to provide proper leadership. This one and half hour lesson can be done in your home or at our training studio.
Basic Obedience
For All Dogs Over the Age of 12 Weeks
If you have trouble walking your dog without him pulling, answering the door without him running out, leaving a sandwich on the table without him stealing it, can't have people over because your dog will snap at them, or you have a new puppy that you want to avoid these issues with, basic obedience is where it all begins.
The Basic course lays the foundation for a solid relationship built on trust and understanding. With most dogs, the basic course will take 4 lessons to complete. Those who completed a Puppy Prep, this course will keep you both headed in the right direction.
In this course you will learn how to train your dog to walk nicely on a leash, heel past distractions, sit at your side when asked, lie down at your side when asked, stay for as long as you need, come to you from the yard and around the house, come to a whistle when out of your sight, drop things and leave things alone when you ask him to, sit and wait at all doors so that your walk begins when YOU want to, go to his bed when people come to the door, greet people without jumping.
You will also learn to provide proper leadership so that your dog or puppy doesn't feel the need to take on the role himself. The basic course will have your dog listening to you without yelling or pulling out a treat for compliance. All lessons are private in your home or our studio and you pay as you go and schedule as your time allows.
Goal Oriented Training
For All Dogs Who Have Completed the Basic Course
Goal oriented training will take you beyond the garden gate and out into the real world you would like to share with your dog. If you would like to enjoy a meal at an outdoor cafe with your dog, go for a long off leash hike, take your dog along on your next family vacation at the beach, Carolyn can help with these specific goals. With Goal Oriented Training you'll be well on your way to being your dogs best friend.
